Houston Celebrates National Community Development Week

Houston, TX – April 28, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Every year, Houston receives more than $35 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, as well as millions of dollars from other Federal funding sources to stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods across the City. These funds are made available by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and support an array of vital activities and projects benefiting thousands of Houstonians. Activities include the development of community centers, health clinics, schools, parks and multi-family housing, as well as providing home repairs for the elderly and down payment assistance to help families achieve the American dream. FHLBank San Francisco Awards $36.6 Million in Affordable Housing Grants in Eight States

February 22, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco) awarded $36.6 million in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grants in the second round of its 2010 funding competition. The grants approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors in AHP Round B were awarded to 60 projects that address the affordable housing needs of communities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, and Washington, and will produce or preserve 3,213 housing units that are affordable to lower-income individuals and families. The total amount of AHP funds awarded in 2010 is $69.1 million.

State housing agency makes $345,000 investment in McKinney through homebuyer assistance

State of North Dakota Receives $343,000 in Affordable Housing Funds

Des Moines, IA – December 28, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Communities throughout the state of North Dakota were recently awarded $343,000 in affordable housing grants through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Affordable Housing Program (AHP). The two projects slated for completion with these grants will create 47 homes for lower income families. In total, FHLB Des Moines awarded $16.4 million to 57 projects.
