Congressman Salazar announces $ 1,092,065 in federal funding to expand passenger terminal at Montrose Regional Airport and to rehabilitate Hopkins Field runway

WASHINGTON, DC – March 16, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, U.S. Congressman John Salazar announced that $1,092,065 in federal funding has been allocated for the Montrose Regional Airport and Hopkins Field, Nucla. Of this funding, $1,017,065 is to expand the passenger terminal building at the Montrose Regional Airport. The expansion of the passenger terminal building (phase II) will provide additional space for passenger queuing areas, hold rooms, and central waiting rooms, thereby alleviating congestion during peak travel periods. A separate grant provides $ 75,000 to rehabilitate and re-mark Runway 5/23 on Hopkins Field. Pavement maintenance, including re-marking, on Runway 5/23 (phase I) will extend the useful life of the pavement.
