$400,000 in Grants to Cleanup and Revitalize Communities in Alabama

ATLANTA – April 21, 2010) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is awarding two communities in Alabama with $400,000 in brownfields grants to help revitalize former industrial and commercial sites, turning them from problem properties to productive community use. Brownfields are sites where expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.
