Kansas Housing, Community Leaders Celebrate Grand Opening of Senior Living Center in Hiawatha

HIAWATHA, KS – November 22, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Downtown Hiawatha is home to a beautiful, new senior living center made possible by the federal Housing Tax Credit Program. Officials from Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services, LLC, the City of Hiawatha and the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce today celebrated the grand opening of Maple Senior Residences located at 722 Oregon Street. The historic rehab converted two vacant buildings, a former grocery store and adjacent café, into ten units of much needed affordable and accessible rental housing.
