HUD, USDA, TREASURY STEP UP EFFORTS IN U.S. BORDER COMMUNITIES

WASHINGTON, DC – June 12, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Today the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Rural Development (USDA-RD) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) announced a joint “Border Community Capital Initiative” (Border Initiative), a collaboration designed to increase access to capital in the U.S./Mexico border region which includes some of the poorest communities in the country.
