PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITIES IN HUD SOUTHEAST REGION LEAD NATION IN GROUNDBREAKING HUD AFFORDABLE HOUSING PRESERVATION EFFORT

ATLANTA – January 24, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Public housing authorities in U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Southeast region outpaced housing authorities across the U.S. in gaining HUD approval to participate in the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program, a HUD initiative to preserve public housing across the U.S. Of the 68 public housing authorities HUD approved to participate in the pilot program earlier this month, forty three percent – 29 – are from HUD’s Southeast region.
