Maryland Partners with Lenders to Help “Underwater” Homeowners Refinance to More Affordable Mortgages

HYATTSVILLE, MD – April 10, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Nearly 500 homeowners from the Washington region attended an invitation-only open house at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville to get help through the federal Home Affordable Refinance Program which expires at the end of 2013. The “Refi Workshop” was organized by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to connect HARP-eligible homeowners to lenders and nonprofit counselors in order to begin the refinancing process
