Pascrell Announces $1.6 Million COPS Grant to Paterson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 27, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Continuing his fight to secure federal resources for community safety, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) announced today that the City of Paterson has been awarded $1,672,510 in federal funding so that the police department can hire an additional 10 police officers. The grant was awarded through the Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program. Over the past two years, Rep. Pascrell has led the effort in the Congress to save the COPS program from elimination.
