Louisiana Leaders Support Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act

ASHINGTON – February 26, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, elected officials and community leaders in Louisiana announced their support for the substitute amendment to the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, which Congressman Bill Cassidy helped introduce Friday evening. Among other things, the legislation would permanently reinstate grandfathered flood insurance rates, help stabilize the real estate market and provide a retroactive refund for people who have had large flood insurance rate increases due to the sale or purchase of a home.
