HEALTH Closes Three Beaches to Swimming

The Department of Health (HEALTH) recommends the closure of Easton’s Beach in Newport, Peabody’s Beach in Middletown, and Scarborough State Beach in Narragansett to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Water quality analysis is conducted by the HEALTH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.
