Comptroller Stringer Analysis: Hotel Room Shelters Costing City $400,000 Per Day

The number of homeless New Yorkers living in commercial hotels has spiked dramatically since November 2015, with the City now spending an unprecedented $400,000 per day on hotel rooms – a 669 percent rise over 12 months – according to a new analysis released today by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer.
