Vitter Offers Anti-Gang Amendment to Housing Spending Bill
Washington, D.C. - September 18, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- U.S. Sen. David Vitter yesterday offered an amendment to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development spending bill that would prohibit federal housing assistance from going to households that include drug dealers and members of violent gangs in New Orleans.
Governor Jindal Awards over $7 Million in Grants to St. Martin Parish
ST. MARTINVILLE, LA - September 16, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Governor Bobby Jindal awarded five grants totaling $7,259,604 to St. Martin Parish that will go toward hurricane recovery, hazard mitigation and infrastructure improvements. Governor Jindal awarded the funds to local officials in a ceremonial check presentation during a townhall meeting in St. Martinville as part of his “Louisiana Working Tour.”
