Caregiver Arrested for Defrauding Medicaid Out of More Than $85,000
Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a home and community based caregiver for defrauding the Medicaid program out of more than $85,000. According to the MFCU investigation, Luther Jerome Robinson, 50, fraudulently submitted billing records and progress notes for services never provided to several Medicaid recipients.

Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the Department of Veterans Affairs reversed its decision to change the funding scheme for programs that benefit homeless veterans. This reversal comes after Rep. Lieu and 11 Members of Congress sent a letter to VA Secretary David Shulkin urging him to reconsider the decision, which would have jeopardized the VA’s ability to meet the needs of homeless veterans

Wilson, a global real estate investment and services firm, announced today that it has represented the landlord in one of the largest restaurant leases in Downtown Los Angeles this year, bringing the ground-floor retail space at mixed-use development 1000 Grand by Windsor to 100 percent occupancy. Kennedy Wilson’s Lee Shapiro, executive vice president of brokerage, and Justin Weiss, vice president of brokerage, were the exclusive leasing agents for the retail portion. Roe Announces Federal Grants for Reconstruction from Natural Disasters
Rep. Thank you for the opportunity to submit testimony today. We all agree that there can be zero tolerance for exposing children to lead paint poisoning and recognize that this hearing responds to very legitimate concerns about conditions that should not exist in public housing. At the same time, the focus should be on fixing the underlying conditions, not on chastising NYCHA management or the Administration for a bureaucratic error. This is an opportunity for the City Council and all of us to support Shola Olatoye and her team as they struggle against great odds to preserve and renew the nation’s largest inventory of publically-owned affordable housing.
