November 6, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Danny K. Davis (D-IL07) today spoke out for, and voted in favor of, extending Unemployment Benefits, the Home Buyer Credit and a Small Business Net Operating Loss Carryback. The vote today approved amendments added by the Senate to the legislation passed by the House of Representatives six weeks ago. The legislation is expected to be signed by President Obama tomorrow. Washington, DC - November 6, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Joe Courtney announced that he has voted in favor of H.R. 3548, the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act, which extends an additional 14 weeks of unemployment assistance to all states, including Connecticut, and extends the homebuyer tax credit for first-time buyers and military families. The legislation also provides relief to businesses by extending a five year net operating loss carryback to 2009. The bill passed 403-12.

Jackson, MS - September 18, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) is now taking reservations under its new Home Buyer Advantage grant program. The program will provide grants of up to $40,000 to qualified home buyers who purchase foreclosed properties in any of the 48 eligible communities across Mississippi. Unlike most of MHC’s other programs, the Home Buyer Advantage program does not require applicants to be first-time home buyers. The program limits applicants to those who earn 120% of the Area Median Income or below.
