Washington, DC – March 21, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Steve Scalise today announced that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have issued an updated remediation protocol to assist homeowners in ridding their property of toxic Chinese drywall. The updated protocol sites an in-depth study done by Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico which determined it unnecessary to replace wiring and electrical systems.

Rep. Melancon Supports Extension of Flood Insurance for Louisiana Families, Businesses

WASHINGTON D.C. – September 24, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, U.S. Congressman Charlie Melancon (LA-03) supported extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for one year, through September 30, 2011. 500,000 Louisianians depend on the federal program to protect their homes and businesses. Congressman Melancon worked to pass a five-year extension of the flood insurance program in the House of Representatives last July. Unfortunately, the Senate failed to act on the five-year extension bill. The one-year extension passed by the House today will prevent the flood insurance program from expiring next week.
