MURPHY, BLUMENTHAL, DELAURO, LARSON, HIMES APPLAUD OVER $1.2 MILLION TO PROMOTE JOBS, SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING RESIDENTS IN CONNECTICUT

U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.)and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and U.S. Representatives John Larson (D-1), Rosa DeLauro (D-3), and Jim Himes (D-4) applauded $1,224,000 in U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding for housing authorities in Hartford, Norwalk, and New Haven. This funding, under HUD’s Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency – Service Coordinators program (ROSS-SC), will be used to hire or retain “service coordinators” to help residents achieve economic and housing independence by connecting residents with career and educational opportunities.
