The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced the award of $600,000 in brownfields grants to Pittsburgh’s North Side Industrial Development Company (NSIDC). The funding will be used to assess abandoned industrial sites in and around Pittsburgh that may be contaminated with hazardous or petroleum substances so that they can be cleaned up and redeveloped.

SCHUMER, GILLIBRAND ANNOUNCE OVER $3.7 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING FOR PLATTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today announced two grants totaling $ 3,786,030 for Plattsburgh International Airport. The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Specifically, both grants, the first being $3,427,830 and the second $ 358,200.00, will be used to rehabilitate runways.
