New Hanover County Updates for Hurricane Florence Recovery
FEMA Registration Deadline Today– Disaster Recovery Center to Stay Open Through January
In order to be potentially eligible for individual assistance, residents must register with FEMA and the Small Business Administration by midnight tonight. Residents can register at DisasterAssistance.gov, call 800-621-3362 or visit the Disaster Recovery Center at Independence Mall located at 3500 Oleander Dr., Wilmington until 6 p.m.

Governor Larry Hogan today announced a major initiative to make a historic investment in school construction projects across the state. Called the Building Opportunity Fund, the governor unveiled plans to submit legislation during the 2019 session of the Maryland General Assembly to provide $1.9 billion in new school construction funding over five years.

U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel today announced $1,480,000 in federal funding to support improvements for the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) Red Line. The funding, awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), will support the planning of the proposed extension of the Red Line, connecting the 95th/Dan Ryan Terminal to 130th Street.
